Time is going by too fast, its already the third week of classes and as time is going by CSC165 is getting harder and harder. We are still learning the language of mathematics, conjunctions, disjunctions, laws, truth tables. We even learned about predicates, we were given the examples of cars that are ferraris and are red, this example made it easier to understand. This example was used to explain us about conjunctions and disjunctions. We also learned that the negation of a universal quantification is an existential quantification and vice versa. The truth table is used when there are many predicates because in that case sets are not an efficient way. Using the truth table we proved the De Morgan's Law. So after doing all this we got to know that we have almost learnt the language of math. This week the lecture was quite interesting.

Week 1 and 2
So, it's week 2. I've been trying to delay writing my first post because I'm not too fond of writing but since tomorrow is the deadline I have to write. My first impression of CSC165 was "This course is all about logic, seems hard", in the first class I didn't really understand what was being taught, but in the second class I could pretty much understand since I have MAT137 and in the first week we did similar things to what we did in CSC165. So, the second class wasn't bad since I could understand the concepts being taught. I don't really like the theoretical side, I like more of the practical side.
Today was my first tutorial, we had already been given an exercise containing two questions which we had to do before the tutorial so that we could discuss it. That exercise wasn't too difficult. So, in the tutorial, we first discussed the exercise although everyone knew everything pretty well. Then we had a quiz which was even quite easy. I think this course is going to get tough in the coming weeks.
